Claire Gordon, Doctor of Chiropractic, BSc (Chiropractic), Member of the British Chiropractic Association, Member of the College of Chiropractors

Claire is passionate about her work and feels strongly that Chiropractic care offers immense benefits for patients of all ages and with a vast array of problems. “My work allows me to make a difference. There is nothing better than to restore someone’s health and well being such that they feel in control of their own quality of life.”

Qualifications

  • Claire qualified in 1996 from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic with a Batchelor of Science Degree in Chiropractic.
  • Following her registration year, she was awarded a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) in 1997.

Biography

  • Starting her professional Chiropractic life in Cornwall, Claire worked in Bodmin for a year, developing her skills by treating a wide range of people and building a busy practice.
  • She moved to Surrey in 1997 and continued to enjoy treating people of all ages and from all walks of life.
  • In 2000 Claire moved to Bristol in order to start her own Clinic within a Multidisciplinary Practice. The network of Practitioners provided each patient with a great opportunity to benefit from a multi-skilled approach and gave Claire clear insight into the benefits of working with team members from other professions.
  • A move to London in December 2006, led to Claire joining The Octagon Chiropractic Clinic in Hammersmith.  There was a strong emphasis on “Family Chiropractic” at The Octagon Clinic and it was a lovely chance to offer Chiropractic care to babies and grandparents alike.  The emphasis on Family didn’t stop with Chiropractic as Claire gave birth to her son, Sam, in 2007.
  • Spring 2011 brought about a return to Bristol for Claire and her family.  She was offered the chance to buy Vital Health Chiropractic Clinic and seized that chance enthusiastically.  Vital Health Clinic was set up to support those living and working in the local community by offering Chiropractic care for people of all ages.  Claire continues to use her established links with other healthcare professionals to offer referrals when required and provide optimum care for all her patients.

Approach to Chiropractic

A firm believer that post-graduate study is vital to maintain excellent skills in diagnosis and treatment, Claire has completed many hours of post-graduate education. She has studied and used Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) for over 15 years and is qualified to Advanced level.  SOT is a gentle technique that works with the understanding that the skull, spine and pelvis work as one unit, so therefore dysfunction in one area will affect others.

To further her interest in the cranial system, Claire went on to study Cranio Sacral Technique (CST), which again is a gentle technique suitable for patients of all ages.

In 2006, Claire completed a 3-year course in Chiropractic Neurology. The information taught on the course was based on the most up-to-date findings from research within the fields of Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology.
